Full-Time Registered Psychologist Position – Registered in Alberta

Hopewell Psychological is a small, growing practice that is looking for an exceptional Registered Psychologist to become an integral part of our awesome team. Due to our expanding partnerships and excellent reputation, most of our clinicians are fully booked and no longer taking new clients – which is why we are opening a new 20-25 hr/ week position to serve the growing needs of our clients.

If you are a caring, compassionate, and skillful practitioner ready to support clients on their journey towards cognitive, emotional, physical & spiritual health & well-being – all from the comfort of your home office, we would love to hear from you! Our primary focus is working with clients who have experienced Motor Vehicle Accidents but as you can imagine, our clients are dealing with mind-body symptoms/issues that can only be dealt with when we handle the issue comprehensively and are using trauma-informed, attachment-based treatment.

A successful candidate is someone who has the following:

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Is a Registered Psychologist in Alberta, with 4+ years of experience (requirement).
  • Has a clean record with their respective College and Regulatory Board (requirement).
  • Has EMDR Level 1 and 2 training and has been using EMDR for 3+ years (requirement).
  • Has Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFIT) training and has been using EFIT for 3+ years (requirement).
  • Knowledgeable about Trauma and Attachment for 3+ years (requirement).
  • Has done and continues to do their own therapy work (this is a requirement because we cannot take clients to places where we have not healed and transformed in ourselves).
  • Willing to work with adults experiencing a variety of issues from their Motor Vehicle Accidents, including trauma, complex grief, anger, anxiety, depression, chronic pain etc. (requirement; training provided).
  • Has awareness of and/or experience in Somatic Therapies (an asset).
  • Has good knowledge and experience in Internal Family Systems and/or Ego State Therapies (an asset).
  • Has experience with Mindfulness Therapy and Emotion Freedom Technique (an asset).

Other Skills:

  • Experience working with groups (an asset).
  • Able to manage time effectively and has strong organizational skills.
  • Collaborative & willing to engage in monthly peer-consultation & training groups.
  • Can effectively and quickly create and maintain a safe online space/therapeutic alliance.
  • Computer literate and willing to use an electronic medical records platform for online sessions (training provided).
  • Can create and maintain rapport with colleagues.

  • Peer-consultation groups where you can consult on client cases and ethical issues.

  • Able to provide a clean criminal record check before or at the time of the interview.
  • Able to provide a clean child welfare check before or at the time of the interview.
